Atlantic Lightshow
This photo was taken after a slow day at work and an hour-long drive home. Just before 10 pm, I spotted lightning through the window of my place in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina, but there was no accompanying rain. A few months earlier, I had dabbled in storm photography in Raleigh, North Carolina, but didn’t get anything worthwhile. Realizing this was my chance for redemption, I grabbed my gear and headed to the coast. After 30 minutes of adjusting camera settings, I set my camera to 30-second exposures and watched the storm unfold. When I saw this lightning flash, I knew I had just captured one of my favorite photos ever.
